The Books for this year's competition are below:
Here is how the competition works:
1. As a class, we are reading/rereading all of the books which are in the bracket.
2. The books are drawn and placed into the bracket. These parings serve as the "games".
3. A Judge will be assigned to each "game". The judge will read both books and determine which book he/she likes the best. The book that the judge deems his/her favorite is declared the winner, and that book advances in the tournament.
4. Each judge may also check back here at our website to see what the students are saying about the books....the students will try to persuade the judges to vote in their favor! :)
5. Prior to March 10th, each student will fill out a bracket.
6. Prizes will be awarded to the brackets who the chose the champion correctly!! :)
Our bracket is set! We are trying to read through all of these phenomenal books before March 10th...the official day that our March Madness begins!! The students will be filling out their own brackets soon to try to determine which book they think will be the 2014 March Madness Champion! :) Please check back right here to read what the students are saying about the books in the bracket.
We are working on writing persuasive letters in class. The students will be trying to persuade the judges to vote for their favorite book! Look for posts in the right hand column under the label "March Madness" to check out the competitions between the books for the week! We hope you check back and join the fun! :)
